Been sooo long since the last time I wrote on my blog.. Well.. I'm just too caught up with sleeping. Lmao. 😂
Anyway, in this post I'm gonna talk about a tourist site at Pontianak named "Alun-alun Kapuas" a.k.a. "Korem".
Alun-alun Kapuas is a park that has been built here for quite long. It WAS used as a place for vendors to sell, especially in the evening. So, it was like a night market actually. It was very crowded, and had been kinda misused from a park to a night market.
But this lately, Alun-alun Kapuas or Korem had been renovated by the government. It was closed for a while, and all of the vendors got no choice but to move all the way to other spots. Hopefully their familly will be doing just fine.
So.. I just visited Korem yesterday. The place has changed a lot. It becomes prettier and much safer, I must say, because when there were vendors at the park, there were also so many hoodlums.
The park now has been decorated with so many lights, so in the evening, the park looks so pretty with twinkling lights all over the park and some water fountains. There aren't any vendors around, but if you are hungry or thirsty, you still can buy food and drink in some small boats.
Talking about these boats, you can have a small trip around Kapuas River. You only need to cost Rp. 15,000 per person. Sadly, they do not tolerate about age. So, even for kids, they will still count them as the same price as adults.
We will be brought to sail on Kapuas River from Alun-alun Kapuas, crossing the Kapuas Bridge, going through the other side of the bridge, and going back to Alun-alun Kapuas. If you go sailing in afternoon, you can see some people, mostly teenagers, canoeing on the river. (P.s: you can go canoeing with only 10k per hour, but they don't rent canoes at Korem). However, if you go sailing in the evening, you will have another scenery, mostly dark, but it becomes beautiful with the lights from some café at the shore of the river, the boat itself and other boats and ships. If you are afraid of the safety in the dark, just to let you know, there are usually some patrolmen patrol on the river. This small trip takes around a half of an hour.
Speaking from my own experience, just a little advice for you, if you are a Moslem, do not take the sailing on around 5-6, you know around Maghrib. Because we actually can only go sailing if the boat is considered full enough by the owner, so we have to wait for them. In my experience, we even had to wait quite long, we were there before Maghrib, the boat went sailing quite long after Maghrib. Since the trip takes around 30 minutes, you should worry about being late for your Maghrib that you might miss it.
That's all for this post. I hope I explain it clear enough for all of you. Don't forget to visit Indonesia~ Remember, Indonesia is not only Bali yanno.. hihiii 😆😆😆
